Cinema Robotics

Camera moves beyond human precision.

6-axis robotic camera system for repeatable, high-speed, frame-accurate motion — integrated with our LED volumes, motion capture stages, and Unreal Engine pipeline across three locations.

Capabilities

What the robot does

Programmable multi-axis camera moves with sub-millimeter repeatability — from high-speed product reveals to multi-pass VFX plates.

Repeatable Motion

Program complex multi-axis camera paths and run them identically across unlimited takes. Perfect for multi-pass VFX, layered compositing, and lighting variations.

High-Speed Capture

Accelerations and velocities impossible for human operators. Paired with high frame rate cameras for dramatic slow-motion reveals and dynamic product shots.

Multi-Pass Compositing

Identical camera paths across multiple takes for clean VFX layering. Separate talent, elements, lighting, and clean plates with frame-accurate precision.

Tabletop & Product

Liquid pours, splash photography, beauty reveals, and macro detail shots with choreographed robotic precision at distances a human hand cannot hold steady.

Target Tracking

Camera locked to a moving subject through complex 3D paths. Smooth, accurate follow shots that would require dozens of manual takes to approximate.

CGI Integration

Full camera path export as FBX with position, rotation, and lens data. Import moves from Maya, Cinema 4D, or Unreal Engine for pixel-accurate live-action and CG alignment.

Object & Model Moving

Robot moves the product, not just the camera. Synchronized movement of objects, props, and models within the scene for dynamic tabletop and product work.

Virtual Production Sync

Robot camera position streams into Unreal Engine in real time via FreeD. LED wall content tracks perfectly with robotic camera moves for seamless in-camera VFX.

The Difference

More than an equipment rental

Most cinema robot providers drop off hardware and leave. We built robotic camera into a full production ecosystem.

Turnkey creative service

Every session includes an experienced operator and technical support. We solve creative problems on set — not just execute programmed moves.

Integrated with virtual production

Our cinema robot sits inside our LED volumes. Robotic camera moves and virtual environments update together in real time through the same pipeline.

Motion capture + robot

Combine motion-captured performances with precision robotic camera work in the same session. A pairing almost no other facility can offer.

Three stages, one system

Same cinema robot capabilities across Buford, Atlanta, and Los Angeles. Consistent workflows, same equipment, either coast.

FBX in, FBX out

Import camera paths from your CG pipeline or export robotic moves into post-production. Seamless data handoff between live-action and digital.

One team through delivery

Our operators, engineers, and post team work as one unit. No vendor handoffs between the robot arm and the final deliverable.

Technology

System specifications

Purpose-built cinema robotics infrastructure integrated with our real-time production pipeline.

Robot System
6-axis robotic arm with optional linear track for a 7th axis of movement. Sub-millimeter repeatability across unlimited passes.
Payload
Up to 20kg camera package. Supports RED, ARRI, Sony Venice, and Phantom high-speed camera rigs with full lens motor control.
Speed
High-speed acceleration curves with smooth deceleration profiles. Precise at macro distances, dramatic at full velocity for hero product reveals.
Lens Control
Synchronized focus, iris, and zoom motors programmed alongside camera movement. Every lens parameter locked to the move and repeatable across takes.
Data Pipeline
FBX export of full camera path including position, rotation, and lens data. FBX import from Maya, Cinema 4D, 3ds Max, and Unreal Engine.
Engine Integration
Real-time position streaming into Unreal Engine via FreeD protocol. LED volume content tracks with robotic camera movement frame-accurately.
Process

How a robot shoot works

From shot planning through final delivery, here’s what a cinema robotics engagement looks like.

01

Pre-Production

  • Consultation and shot list planning
  • Camera move programming and testing
  • FBX import from your CG pipeline if needed
  • Equipment and stage scheduling
02

Shoot Day

  • Robot calibration and camera setup
  • Move rehearsal with talent and product
  • Multi-pass execution with real-time review
  • On-set adjustments and creative iteration
03

Post & Delivery

  • Camera data export in FBX format
  • VFX plates and clean passes organized
  • Motion data matched to your post pipeline
  • Final delivery coordination
