Form Studios Transitions to New Leadership, Ushering in a New Era of Growth

BUFORD, GEORGIA – January 31, 2025 – – Form Studios is excited to announce its official launch as an independent company under new leadership. Formerly a subsidiary of the REMEDY creative agency brand, this new chapter allows Form Studios to fully leverage its unique expertise, innovative production services, and state-of-the-art technology, all while strengthening its commitment to providing top-tier virtual production solutions to a diverse range of clients.

The decision to become a standalone company follows the growing demand for specialized virtual production services, driven by rapid advancements in the industry and the increasing need for high-quality content across all platforms. As an independent company, Form Studios will now have the flexibility to expand its creative services, streamline its operations, and continue to push the boundaries of virtual production creative services alongside industry partners like REMEDY.

“We’re thrilled to embark on this exciting new journey as an independent studio,” said Shawn Herold, the newly appointed President of Form Studios. “This transition gives us the freedom to focus on the next level of creativity and production for our clients.”

“Shawn has been by my side at REMEDY since 2013 and through the launch of Form Studios back in 2017,” said Jamie Graff, Founder and CEO of REMEDY. “I am thrilled for his transition to leading at the helm of Form Studios, where his passion for virtual production and technical expertise will drive industry growth and make VP attainable for all.”

As one of its first courses of action, under new leadership, Form Studios has hired David Stapp as Partner and Director of Virtual Production where he will expand the studios capabilities in areas such as ICVFX, motion capture, and 3D animation. Stapp brings with him over a decade of experience in the film industry, including expertise in the areas of post-production, VFX, cinematography and Unreal Engine. Notably, he is also the creator of a successful YouTube channel called “Virtual Production Insider” where he makes virtual production approachable to the masses.

Key initiatives for Form Studios beginning in 2025 include:

  • Consulting: Form Studios understands that, for those new to it, virtual production can be intimidating. To assist with this, Form Studios now offers consulting to its LED clients so they have less to worry about on shoot day, and can focus more on the big picture outcome and less on the technicalities. Since this offering Form Studios has seen an increase in productions being booked.
  • Virtual Art Department (VAD): Form Studios employs a team of artists who create virtual environments for productions using 3D modeling software and real-time game engines to design and visualize sets and props. This results in less technical issues on shoot days and provides more creative flexibility and efficiency over traditional methods.
  • Pre-Viz: Form Studios offers pre-visualization of virtual environments, and simulations of camera movements all prior to shoot day allowing clients to visualize a scene before its fully created so creative stakeholders can commit to creative decisions early on, which can help avoid reshoots and high cost.

“By becoming a separate entity, we are setting the stage for a new era of growth and innovation,” said Herold. “We look forward to becoming the go-to virtual production studio partner for brands and agencies to create content that captivates audiences.”
